History

1963
“Shinagawa Electric Industry Co.,Ltd.” was founded in Shinagawa, Tokyo.
Started production of transistor radios and vacuum tube type stereos .
1969
Opened a new production plant for cassette tape recorders in Kitakata.
(This was in accordance with Kitakata city's campaign to attract firms)
1973
Became an affiliate plant of “Tokyo SANYO Electric Co.,Ltd.”
Started to specialize in stereos under the new system.
1986
Due to the consolidation of Tokyo SANYO Electric Co.,Ltd. and SANYO Electric Co.,Ltd.,
Kitakata Fab became an affiliate plant of “SANYO Electric Co.,Ltd.”
1989
Shifted production from audio equipment to semiconductors and renamed as “Fukushima SANYO Electronics Co., Ltd.”.
2002
Kanto SANYO Electronics Co.,Ltd., Hanyu SANYO Electronics Co., Ltd., SANYO Silicon Electronics Co., Ltd., and Fukushima SANYO Electronics merged together and formed “Kanto SANYO Semiconductors Co., Ltd.”
2004
Started production of Amorphous Silicon Solar Cells and Amorphous Photosensors.
2010
Establishment of “SANYO Amorton Co., Ltd.”
(Spin-off from the Kanto SANYO Semiconductors Co.,Ltd.)
2013
“Panasonic Eco Solutions Amorton Co., Ltd.” was established.
2019
Changed company name to “Panasonic Solar Amorton Co., Ltd.”
